The apps collect nothing. Here is exactly what that means.
The Punte apps have no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. What you see and type goes only between your own devices. This website measures visits only if you agree.
Last updated 26 October 2026. Applies to Punte Host for macOS, Punte for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows and Android, and this website.
In short
- We run no servers for Punte. Your devices connect to each other directly, over your network or your own VPN.
- There are no accounts. We never learn who you are, which Macs you own or when you use them.
- The apps contain no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and send nothing to us.
- Everything Punte stores stays on your devices, in places you control.
- On the App Store, Punte's privacy label is Data Not Collected.
- This website uses Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use it, only if you accept it in the cookie banner.
Who we are
Punte is made by developer name, postal address. For any question about this policy, write to privacy@your-domain.
Because the apps send us nothing, we don't hold personal data about you from them. The only information we see is how visitors use this website, if they agree to it (see This website). We never sell or share it.
What travels between your devices
During a session, the following goes from your device to your Mac or back, and nowhere else:
- the picture of the Mac's screen and its sound;
- your touches, clicks, scrolling and keystrokes;
- clipboard contents, only if you turned on clipboard sync for that Mac on your device and allowed it for that device on the Mac;
- when your Mac is locked and you chose to unlock it, the Mac's own Screen Sharing connection, including the account name and password you type.
All of it is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Both devices prove their identity with keys that were exchanged when you paired them, so no one else can read or change it on the way. It never passes through a server of ours, because there isn't one.
As with any network connection, someone on the same network can see that two of your devices are talking, how much data they exchange, and the Mac's name or address that you typed. They can't see the content.
What stays on your devices
Punte keeps the following on your own devices. None of it is sent to us.
| What | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Device identity keys | The Secure Enclave or the system's protected key store, on each device | To prove each device's identity. They can't be exported. |
| Paired devices and saved Macs | The keychain or app storage on each device | Names, addresses, ports, key fingerprints and your options for each Mac. |
| Your Mac sign-in, if you choose Remember | The keychain of that iPhone or iPad, for that Mac only | To unlock a locked Mac without typing the password each time. |
| Audit log on the Mac | Punte Host's own folder on the Mac | Connection attempts and sessions: time, source address, device name, short fingerprint, result. Never pairing codes, keys, keystrokes or clipboard contents. Old entries are rotated away. |
| Session log in the client | The app's own folder on that device | When sessions connected or failed, for troubleshooting. Never keys, codes, keystrokes or clipboard contents. |
| Settings | The app's preferences on each device | Your choices, such as the port, idle timeout and allowed networks. |
Deleting an app deletes what it stored, except keychain items, which your system may keep until you remove them. On the Mac, Revoke in Punte Host's Devices settings removes a device; on a device, Forget removes a Mac.
Permissions the apps ask for
- Screen Recording (Mac): to send the picture of your screen to your own device during a session. Nothing is recorded to disk.
- Accessibility (Mac): to turn your touches and keystrokes into clicks and typing on the Mac.
- Local Network (all devices): to reach your Mac on your network.
- Notifications (Mac, optional): to tell you when a device asks to pair, connects or disconnects.
- Camera (iPhone, iPad, Android, optional): only to scan the pairing QR code, only while the scanner is on screen. No image leaves the device.
- Face ID, Touch ID or passcode (optional): if you turn on the app lock. The check happens in the operating system; Punte only learns whether it succeeded.
Purchases
Punte Pro is sold by the App Store, the Microsoft Store and Google Play. They handle your payment and your account with them under their own privacy policies; we never see your payment details or your name. The app checks your purchase on your device, using the signed record the store provides. Stores give developers sales reports that don't identify you.
Crash reports
Punte contains no crash reporting of its own. If you have chosen in your device's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple, Microsoft or Google may pass anonymous crash reports to us. You can turn this off in your device's privacy settings at any time.
This website
This website loads no fonts, scripts or images from other companies, with one exception you choose: Microsoft Clarity.
Microsoft Clarity, only with your consent
When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use Clarity. Until you click Accept, Clarity isn't loaded, sets no cookies and receives nothing. If you decline, we remember that choice in your browser and don't ask again.
If you accept, Clarity records how you use this website: the pages you open, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, your browser, device type and screen size, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. Text on the page is masked in its recordings. We use this only to see which pages help and where the site is unclear. Clarity is not used in any Punte app, and it never sees anything from your Mac or your sessions.
- Cookies: Clarity sets first-party cookies such as
_clck(kept for up to a year, to recognise a returning browser) and_clsk(one day, to join page views into one visit). Microsoft may set its own cookies for Clarity too. - Who processes it: Microsoft Corporation, as our processor, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Clarity's terms. Data may be processed in the United States; Microsoft takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- How long: Microsoft keeps recordings for about 30 days and aggregated statistics for up to 13 months.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; Clarity then stops and its cookies are removed.
If you choose a light or dark theme, or answer the cookie banner, that choice is saved in your own browser and never sent anywhere.
The site is hosted by Porkbun, which may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time to keep the service secure.
Children
Punte doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask what data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. The apps give us no data about you. Clarity's website statistics aren't linked to your name, so we usually can't find you in them, but you're welcome to ask, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If Punte ever starts handling data differently, we'll update this page before the change ships and change the date at the top.
